We are personally dedicated to assisting grassroots charities, projects and organizations which look after the needs of families in Guatemala. We do this by providing aid to children at risk, supplying physical necessities and other resources to help with projects that uplift children, families and communities.
OUR Story
OUR Guatemala: Travel With Purpose was founded by Leceta Chisholm Guibault and her son, Alexander Chisholm Guibault, as a heartfelt response to Alexander’s traumatic past and his desire to create meaningful change in the lives of Guatemalan children. Alexander spent much of his childhood enduring severe abuse, neglect, and abandonment. From being sold by his biological parents, to surviving life on the streets and later enduring mistreatment in an orphanage, his early years were marked by profound hardship. His life took a transformative turn when he met Leceta, a Canadian volunteer who would later adopt him and become his mother.
Through their connection, Alexander found the family, love, and support he had longed for his entire life. Together, they founded OUR Guatemala: Travel With Purpose as a way to give back.
The initiative offers guided, purpose-driven trips to Guatemala that allow participants to actively contribute to local communities. Through their work, they provide essential resources like beds, food, and educational scholarships to vulnerable children—many of whom face challenges similar to those Alexander once endured.

What began as a personal journey to connect across cultures has grown into a mission to create meaningful, purpose-driven travel experiences. With a passion for building bridges between communities, Leceta brings warmth, vision, and inspiration to every journey.

The Chisholm-Guibault family also includes Leceta’s husband, Jean, and their two now-adult children, Kahleah and Tristan, who were adopted as infants in the 1990s from Guatemala and Colombia, respectively.

OSDIFGUA is a non-governmental organization based in Santiago Atitlán, Sololá, dedicated to promoting the well-being and holistic development of families through social, educational, and community-based initiatives. Focused primarily on supporting low-income families, the organization works to improve quality of life through projects in social development, health, and education. Grounded in values of perseverance and community unity, OSDIFGUA emphasizes the family as the foundation of broader social progress, maintaining a strong local presence while contributing to efforts at a national level.
Legacy Partners Guatemala
Legacy Partners Guatemala exists to financially support Guatemalan-led organizations in Guatemala in their work combating poverty and inequality. These organizations support impoverished Guatemalan communities through education initiatives and several other types of programs and assistance. Our vision is to empower Guatemalan community leaders to build, continue and expand programs that provide resources to their communities and come alongside them in support as they lead the way with their own cultural knowledge and realistic assessment of their communities needs.
